Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme(MGNREGS)
|
In this
scheme all interested peoples
are given
job for minimum 100 days at minimum period wage.
This programme is launched at rural areas.
In the
year 2013-14, 4.78 crore households get benefitted
by this employment.

National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM)
|
Also known as AJEEVIKA launched for rural areas people to provide them
self employment for livelihood.
Achievements-
2012 -13
implemented in 150 district
2014-15 implemented in 300 district 2016-17 implemented in whole India
It has
provided around 90
lakhs self employments.

Yojana(JPRGY)
|
It focusing on providing guaranteed employment in backward districts with the aim of removing poverty and unemployment.

SAMPOORN GRAMEEN
ROZGAR
Yojana
(SGRY)
|
SGRY, launched on September 25,2001 to provide additional wage employment in the
rural areas. It provides
cash and food grains
component. Food
grains are provided free
of cost to the states.
In 2005-06
, 82. 18 Crore person-days of employment were generated with the centre releasing Rs. 5497.43 Crore
as cash component and about
37.30 lakh tones of food
grains .
This programme has anticipated a
target of 100 crore man-days for
labour.

PMRY has formed to provide employments to the educated unemployed.
Grants and aid provided under this programme
Loan amounted
upto 1 lakh
for own
business enterprise and
further 2 lakh for
other operating activities.

Yojana(PGY)
|
It launched in
2001 and formed
three projects
i.
Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana
(Emphasis on all weather roads for rural
area having
500 or more
population)
ii.
Pradhan mantri
Gramin vikas
Yojana (emphasis on
primary educations, health, and housing
facilities etc)
iii.
Pradhan mantri Gramin
Drinking Water Yojana (emphasis on health and drinking water
supply)

Swarnjayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana
(SGSY)
|
SGSY now restructured into NRLM, a
self-employment generation programme, was launched from April 1,1999 by restructuring the earlier
Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) and Training For Rural Youth for Self
Employments and other
allied programmes. The emphasis of SGSY is
on a focused approach
to poverty alleviation.

SWARN JAYANTI
SHAHRI ROJGAR
Yojana (SJSRY)
|
Launched
in 1997 by also
merging Nehru Rojgar Yojana
and PM Integrated Urban Poverty Eradication Programme. Expenditure on this
programmed borne by centre
and state in 3:1.
The objective of this programme is
to
provide

Urban self Employment
2.
Urban Wage Employment

Valmiki Ambedkar Awas Yojana (VAMBAY)
|
Vambay, launched in December 2001.It facilitates –
•Construction and upgradaton of
dwelling units of
slum dwellers
•Provides a healthy and enabling environment through community toilets under Nirmal
Bharat Abhiyan, a component of the scheme.
The Central Government provides a subsidy of 50 per cent.
VAMBAY has been subsumed in
Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP) launched along with Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNRUM) on December 3,2005

SMALL AND COTTAGE INDUSTRIES
|
Govt emphasis in the
small and cottage
industries need
to eliminate poverty and unemployment in rural areas. Special measures has been taken
by govt for developing such industries.

National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS)
|
With the NREG Act being passed in September, 2005 the NREGS
was implemented from February 2, 2006 in 200 identified districts of the country
with the objective of providing 100 days of guaranteed unskilled wage employment to each rural household opting for it.
The ongoing programmes of SGRY and National Food for Work Programme (NFFWP) have been
subsumed under
NREGS in these
districts. The NREGS, a demand-driven scheme, has its focus on works relating to water conservation, drought proofing (including tree plantation), land
development, flood- control/protection (including drainage in water logged
areas) and
rural connectivity in terms of all-weather roads.
